Double-layered Ti[O.sub.2]-Si[O.sub.2] nanostructured films with self-cleaning and antireflective properties
Article Abstract:
The possibility of creating the dual functions of self-cleaning and antireflection in double-layered Ti[O.sub.]-Si[O.sub.2] nanostructured films consisting of a dense top layer of Ti[O.sub.2] and porous bottom layer of Si[O.sub.2] is examined. The double-layered film have showed comparable photocatalytic activity to that of Pilkington Activ self-cleaning glass and much better transmittance properties while the optimization of the film structure has provided improved self-cleaning and antireflective properties.

Role of nanochemical environments in porous TiO(sub 2) in photocurrent efficiency and degradation in dye sensitized solar cells
Article Abstract:
Elongated dye sensitized solar cells with a thickness gradient of the nanoporous TiO(sub 2) front electrode are used to assess the impact of the layer thickness on photocurrent and degradation. Iodide is confirmed to play a crucial role both in the maximum attainable photocurrent and in degradation phenomena even in nominally high concentration.

Particles coming together: Electron centers in adjoined TiO(sub 2) nanocrystals
Article Abstract:
The condensation of isolated TiO(sub 2) nanocrystals through the application of a simple hydration- dehydration cycle is reported. Anatase TiO(sub 2) nanocrystals are produced by the metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) method in the flow reactor system.
